Day 34

Breakfast(645AM): Yes, on a Saturday, I'm up at 630AM for no real reason.  Partly dogs wanted out, partly I wasn't asleep anyways, and partly I wanted to weigh in!  Here's my post-weighin breakfast.  I think thism orning was supposed to be a corn muffin.  The last muffin was lacking, so i think I'll save muffin for snacks...  I took a leftover egg/ham (~50cal) and put it on one of my own pre-BMD frozen english muffins (110cal).  I added a big slice of tomato (like 2 cal?) and a small bit of sharp cheddar (40cal).   I saved the top of the english muffin for a tsp of tayberry jam (15cal).

Snack(930AM):  Not really hungry, but organizing the WW mini bars I bought.  Wanted to try the Red Velvet Cake bar.  It was sorta, eh... okay.  overly sweet though.  (70cal)

Lunch out (1230PM):  Salad at Jack's.  Romaine and mixed greens(30cal), tomato(15cal), beetsx2(30cal?), grapefruit(20cal), apple(25cal), and  garbazo/kidney mix(45cal).  Grilled Chicken (est 100cal) 1.5Tbs Ranch Dressing (120cal)  Purposely did not get croutons so I could get dressing.

Snack (230PM):  Coconut Spice Chocolate Chip Cookie (300cal)  Knew going into lunch that I wanted to have a cookie - picked salad accordingly.  Love these sooo much and just found out there's a CookieConnection store a lot closer to my house than the one I knew about already.  Not good.  (UPdate: As of 10/10/10 I have not been back to the Cookie Connection, even though it's super close tomy house! :D)

Snack(515PM): Half a nectarine (35cal) and 100cal of Popchips.

Dinner(715PM): Pork in Papaya Sauce (390cal)  Veggies were great - bean mix and an edamame mix.  The pork was decent.  I'm not a huge fan, but I liked it.  The sauce was okay.  I liked the raisins and the fruitiness, but it was too sweet for me.  And the ginger flavor was strong for me.  I know I can request no ginger meals, but then I never get the asian meals and there the ginger's not so strong.

Snack (830PM): Half a bag of Orville Redenbacher Light BUtter flavor popcorn (100cal) sprayed a tiny bit and sprinkled with paprika and garlic/onion powder.  I don't know why they make this label sooo difficult.  They tell you two sets of stats, one for unpopped and one for popped.  Does anybody really eat this unpopped???  Once you figure that out, they list the serving size as 5.5 cups popped, 2.5 servings a bag.  BUT then they give the nutrient stats for 1 cup popped!  (15cal)  By my calculations, a full bag should have 13.75 cups.  Half of that is 6.875 cups.  Cal for that is 103.

Daily Total: 1600cal

Weigh-In #5

As of Sept 4, 630AM, I'm down another 5 lb.  I'm pleased with the loss, but I worried that it's too fast.  I charted my weekly cal averages against the loss and there's a definite pattern.  On the weeks where my avg has been 1500, I've lost 5 lb.  On the two weeks where it was higher, I only lost 2-3 lb.  SO, I guess if I'm serious about slowing the rate down, I need to aim for 1600-1700 cal per day.  I don't really feel hungry or deprived at the 1500 level.  But, if I aim for 200 cal snacks instead of 100 cal snacks, that will bump me up.

Day 33

Breakfast(645AM):  Stuffed French Toast (350cal)  Love it!  It's the best of both breakfast world - sweet, with the toast and berries, AND savory, with the sausage and sweetpotatoes.  Yum!

Snack (1030AM): Piece of rice cake (25cal). And a Promax70 (80cal) that came as a free sample with my Netrition.com purchase.  It was rocky road flavor and I liked it a lot.  80 cal, 2.5g fat, 40mg sodium, 10g total carb, 1g fiber, 5g protein.

Snack(1200PM):  Bite of rice cake(20cal) and half a nectarine(35cal)Heading home now!!!  Minimum day!  :D

Lunch(130PM): Veggie Chili (290cal) with 20 cal of frozen corn mixed in and garnished with 60 cal of avocado.  Yum!
Snack (345PM): 80cal of trail mix.and 100 cal of popchips

Dinner(700PM): Moroccan Chicken with green beans and lentils. (390cal) added 35cal of peas and corn and 10 almonds (60cal). Pretty good.  I really like the lentils and the green beans.  The chicken is good and the sauce is decent - sorta curry-ish.

Daily Total: 1545 cal

Day 32

Breakfast(700AM):  Chicken Mushroom Crepe (270cal) + a chopped tomato (15cal).  The crepes are still good, the zucchini-sweet potato hash is still odd.  Didn't eat it (-40? lowballed to be safe)

Snack (1200PM):  Half a nectarine (35cal), a cupcake (200cal) from a student and a big bite of rice cake (40cal)

Lunch (140PM):  Cranberry Turkey with Quinoa (390cal) - This is going to be a fav.  I LOVE turkey with cranberry.  The turkey is just right for me in the level of cooking -- that's to say, it's a bit dry. And I LOVE quinoa.  THis is good with veggies and pecans.  I like squash an awful lot - Unfortunately, this puree has an unfortunate texture.  Like glue.  Not ok.  But, I like the smell of the cinnamon and the cranberry.  :D

Snack(545PM):  Rice Cake (70cal), 2/3 TBS of PB (120cal), and banana (100cal).  Scheduling around Back to school night at 630PM, didn't want to be all full with a big dinner.

Dinner(900PM):  Home late, already ate a big snack.  Still hungry a bit.  Didn't want or need the full 390 cal dinner.  Found some frozen leftovers in freezer.  It was orginally portioned into two servings, I ate half of one serving (150?).  About a cup of rigatoni, spinach, ground turkey and tomatoes.  Added 1/8 cup corn(20cal), 1/8cup peas(10cal), and 1/4 cup pinto beans(25cal).  Figure out cal later.  Ate 15 almonds(90cal).

Snack(10PM): 15 dark choc M&Ms (4.44caleach = 67cal).  And one bite of the cupcake half that's still in the fridge (60cal)

Daily TOtal: 1622 cal

Nutrition Info

A few of the BistroMD items come with out nutrition info, so I emailed the company. This the information they provided to me.  It should get bigger if you click on it.

Day 31

Breakfast(730AM): High Protein Bagel (140cal) was supposed to go with cream cheese (50cal) but I thought I forgot the CC.  As it turns out, I did not - I just didn't see it.  So I used a tspish of peanut butter (70cal)

Snack(1100AM):  Ate half a rice cake, Later (1215PM) I finished the rice cake with a tsp of pb (130total)  Also ate the edmame I brought to go with lunch (60cal)

Lunch (140PM):  Chicken Puttanesca with wheat penne. (390cal)  Not bad, but def not a fav.  The pasta was a little mushy.  The chicken was good and I liked the puttanesca sauce - olives, tomato and caper, yum!
SNack(530PM): 10 roasted almonds (60cal) and a half a tortilla (100cal) toasted into chips with 1/5 of an avocado(60cal).
Dinner(645PM): Chicken Masala with sweet potato puree and brussels sprouts. Pretty scared of the brussel sprouts. I LOVE roasted brussels, but they are so tempermental - they can turn ick in an instant. These are closer to the ick side, but not inedible. Pretty mushy and a little past. Would be tough to eat if you don't like brussles. The chicken is good, like the mushrooms and the sweet potato puree is fantastic. Apparently, I'm not a huge fan of masala - the sauce tastes a little... off. Overall okay, but not a fav.
Snack (930PM): 50 cal brownie and 60 cal fruit and nut trail mix

Daily Total: 1410cal
