So, boxes are shipped a week before I need them and then I'm a week behind that!  So this box was packed on 9/9/10.  I got it on 9/13/10.  And I'm starting to use it on 9/26/10.  I get a day or two behind every week, due to other meals.  And I have 14 leftover lunches and dinners stored in my big freezer.  Will be skipping a box soon.

Box #5

Box #6 is scheduled to come this Friday -- I'm just starting to eat Box#5 on Thursday.  Will be able to skip a box in the near future.  Woohoo - $180 in my pocket!

Box #4 arrives!

Still not old!  I'd sorta forgotten about it.  As I was driving home, I remembered and I actually smiled and got a little excited!  Such a dork :D

Box#3 arrives!

It hasn't gotten old, still seems a little like Christmas.  And looking at the list is a little like reading a menu for a restaurant, but knowing that you get to have one of everything!

Box#2 Arrives!

Box# 2 arrived today. Everything is nice and frozen. In fact, I brought it in the house, but left it in the cooler until after I eat lunch.

Also got a package from Forever21 today. First time to order from their plus-size line, Faith21. Pretty pleased -- 2 of the 3 shirts fit great and were exactly what I expected. If you haven't checked them out, you should! Cheap trendy stuff and they seem to get new stuff pretty often (like since I placed my order!). Don't be scared off by the sizing; look at the actual measurements in inches to decide. Their size numbers are one size off most stores. What they call a 15-16 is really more like an 18/20 and the 17-18 is more like a 20/22.

 

Box #1 Arrives!

I placed my order with BistroMD for a week of Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, with no snacks.  No snacks to keep a little flexibility and to keep cost down.  The week is about $160 for 20 meals.  One dinner is skipped to leave some freedom of choice.  I placed the order on July 21.  Only concern at this point is not being able to figure out when the box will come.  I never actually called the company (Remember, lazy. And I've been a night owl recently.  Not many companies are open at 3am).  Fortunately, it worked out okay because... drum roll please, the box came today! 

The box was delivered by FedEx at 1030am (I know because I called FedEx).  I didn't get home until 530pm.  It was sitting in the sun on a 90degree day.  I was a little worried, but everything was still super frozen and there was still some solid dry ice in the container.

Opening the box was a little like Christmas morning...  All the food was frozen and I put it straight into the freezer.  My Day 1 will be Monday.  I organized a little by day using the menu, so things are easy to get to in the freezer.  Be aware: In an average refrigerator, a delivery will take up almost half the freezer.

My only concern so far is the amount of packaging this process will create.  A big cardboard box every week.  A big styrofoam cooler every week.  Each meal has a plastic tray AND and cardstock wraparound.  I'll have to find a good way to reuse all the coolers.
